Oracle Home Backup of Application Server

1)      There is no need of shutting down the Application Server, We can take tar backup online and it is consistent as well , only while restoring we might have have to change the status


We are taking the backup of all the Oracle Homes using the “Tar” Command.

Ex: tar –cvf  portalorahome_20070508.tar  $ORACLE_HOME_PATH
